Aston Villa sit 17th in the Championship table at the moment.

Steve Evans has told the Football League Paper, via Inside Futbol, that he is confident Aston Villa will recover from their sluggish early-season form to finish in the playoff places at a minimum.
It has been a testing start to the Championship season for Aston Villa, who sit 17th in the table after winning just one of their first six games in the second tier.

Nobody said winning promotion to the Premier League would be easy and manager Roberto Di Matteo seems to be finding that out more and more every week.
The Italian brought in nine players during the summer transfer window, including tried-and-tested Championship quality like Ross McCormack, and proven Premier League talents like James Chester and Mile Jedinak, but wins have been hard to come by.
Despite their form, Aston Villa are only five points off the top six, and six adrift of second-placed Newcastle. There is plenty of time to turn it around, and the former Leeds and Rotherham boss believes Di Matteo will do just that between now and May.

“Aston Villa have also added some real quality players in the last few weeks,” Evans told the Football League Paper, via Inside Futbol. “It’s certainly going to be top six for them.”
The Villans, who drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest on Sunday for what was their third draw in six games, host Brentford at Villa Park tomorrow night.
