Steve Cooper and Nottingham Forest fans were forced to wave goodbye to Brice Samba back in July, although Everton are now interested in bringing him back to England.
According to the Daily Mail, the 28-year-old rejected a new contract at the City Ground as he wanted to return to France, with RC Lens eventually wrapping up a £4.3m deal.
Now, 90min believe Everton want to sign Samba, and if it happens, Cooper will surely be furious.
Nottingham Forest will be angered if Everton sign Samba
Well, Samba threw away his chance to add to his 133 appearances for Nottingham Forest when forcing a return to France, despite just becoming a cult hero with some incredible displays during the Championship play-off success.
It forced Cooper into the market for a new goalkeeper, with Dean Henderson eventually arriving on loan, so that department of the squad is yet to actually find a permanent replacement for Samba.
Therefore, Nottingham Forest fans – and Cooper – will surely be annoyed, and start to question the validity of his desire to return to France, if he returns to England just months after leaving the City Ground.

We would partly understand Samba returning to England if things were going poorly in France.
However, the 28-year-old has helped RC Lens to second in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain, so Champions League football next season is a real possibility.
Therefore, Samba’s reason for leaving Nottingham Forest would end up being severely cheapened should he join Everton.
Nottingham Forest should rival Everton
If Samba has genuinely changed his mind about living in France, and wants to come back to England, he shouldn’t join anyone other than Nottingham Forest.
As aforesaid, Cooper will need to replace Henderson at the end of the season, and Samba would be a great signing.
The Linzolo-born glovesman has been one of the best goalkeepers in Europe’s top five leagues so far this season, keeping ten clean sheets in just 15 appearances in Ligue 1.
Samba has also only conceded seven goals in those 15 outings, with his dominant displays in between the sticks proving to be a major factor behind RC Lens sitting second.
Be sure to keep an eye on Samba’s future, as Nottingham Forest will surely feel aggrieved if he joins one of their Premier League rivals following such a dramatic summer.
