The Kilmarnock boss has had great success with one former player in Youssouf Mulumbu at Kilmarnock, why not his former midfield partner.
Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke looks on during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Kilmarnock at Celtic Park Stadium on October 28, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Last weekend saw Kilmarnock continue their good form under manager Steve Clarke with an impressive 1-0 win against champions elect Celtic.
It was a goal from Youssouf Mulumbu that proved the difference, in a game he dominated the midfield for the home side.
Clarke has done a good job at Kilmarnock since he took over in October. They have picked up some good results in recent times, including the Celtic and Rangers victories, with some of his old players proving important.
He worked with Mulumbu at West Brom and January recruit Aaron Tshibola when he was manager of Reading.

So this summer should he go looking for another former West Brom player of his, one who formed a brilliant partnership with Mulumbu in the heart of the West Brom midfield a few years ago?
The player in question is Argentine maestro Claudio Yacob. Clarke brought him to England from Racing and has not looked back, with the Argentine becoming a regular member of the West Brom squad.
However, he is out of contract this summer and is looking increasingly likely to depart The Hawthorns.

If that is the case then Kilmarnock should not be afraid of a cheeky approach. His wages would cost a fair amount but the opportunity to play football every week couple with a Mulumbu reunion should not be too hard a sale for the Kilmarnock boss.
Yacob would be a signing to take Kilmarnock to the next level and potentially start challenging the current status quo in Scottish football.
