Graeme Murty is impressing after stepping into the caretaker role at Ibrox, which is now confirmed until the end of the season.

Rangers boss Graeme Murty would not have expected to be closing the season as Rangers manager after stepping into replace Pedro Caixinha back in October, but that is the scenario which has just been confirmed by the club.
But the board’s inability to find a successor so far have left Murty at the helm, in part owing to his steady results.
Murty’s Rangers face Kilmarnock this weekend, and the man in the opposing dugout Steve Clarke has offered his assessment on the job he has done at Ibrox to date.

Clarke told Herald Scotland: “I don’t know Graeme but obviously I know his reputation and what he is about.
“I know he did very well at Reading and he’s doing ok at Rangers as well, he’s gone in there and steadied the ship quite well.”

This is Murty’s second stint as Rangers caretaker boss in 2017, which illustrates the turbulence at Ibrox this past year.
Rangers currently sit in third place, although Murty did lead them up to second with back to back wins over Aberdeen.
He helped them record four successive victories before a surprise loss to St Johnstone last weekend, and they will be seeking to bounce back against Clarke’s Kilmarnock, who sit eighth in the table.
