Steve Walsh has faced fierce criticism from Everton fans recently.

Some Everton fans have urged the club to part ways with Walsh, after their terrible start to the season.
Walsh was brought to Everton to identify transfer targets, but the Toffees’ poor summer window has led to him receiving criticism.
Everton fans now feel that Walsh should be let go, as Ronald Koeman was earlier in the season.

But Claridge claims that Koeman is at fault for Everton’s struggles this season, and Walsh is not responsible.
Claridge said: “Ronald Koeman went there with a really strong hand. There’s no way in the world that Koeman has gone there and said let Steve Walsh get all the players in.
“If you’re a manager worth your salt, you have the final say. Let’s not go there.

“We always say when it goes wrong, who has brought them in and blame someone else. No, it’s the manager’s job.”
Everton spent big in the summer transfer window, but a huge number of their additions have struggled to find form.
The likes of Sandro Ramirez, Davy Klaassen and Wayne Rooney have all failed to impress since moving to Goodison Park.
Everton lost their last match 4-1 against Southampton, and currently sit in 16th place in the Premier League table.
