The Wolverhampton Wanderers ace is a reported transfer target for Manchester United.

Wolves legend Steve Bull sat down for an exclusive interview with the Express & Star, and shared his belief that his former club will keep hold of Manchester United-linked Ruben Neves in the summer, if they are able to match his ambition.

The 20-year-old joined Wolves from Porto in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £15.8 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the Championship’s best players.

He has been at the heart of everything good that Wolves have done, scoring four goals in 32 league outings thus far, and dictating the tempo of the game from a deep-lying midfield position.

According to Spanish publication El Gol Digital, the Red Devils want to sign Neves in the summer, as Jose Mourinho continues his search for a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick.

Bull, though, explained why he believes the Portuguese ace will remain at Molineux in the summer, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star:

“I don’t know whether Neves will go. The only way they can keep him is if they offer him Premier League wages. If they want him though, if Wolves want him, I think they will keep him.”

Despite Bull’s positive outlook on the situation, if United come knocking for Neves in the summer, it will be extremely hard for Wolves to resist the Premier League giants.

Much will depend on Neves himself, of course, and the Black Country outfit will have to show some serious ambition in the summer, if they are to convince the Portuguese ace that Molineux is the place for him to continue his development.
