Middlesbrough will play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship tomorrow.
Wolves legend Steve Bull spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and warned that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men cannot afford to underestimate Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough side tomorrow.
The Black Country outfit currently sit six points clear of Cardiff City at the top of the Championship table, whilst Boro sit in sixth spot, just one point ahead of seventh placed Bristol City.
Nuno’s men won their last two league outings, firmly putting to bed talk of a collapse in the process, and with a 13 point advantage over third placed Fulham, promotion back to the Premier League seems to be a matter of when and not if.
Bull, who scored a club record 306 goals for Wolves, told the Express & Star how his former side need to respect Middlesbrough, ahead of their clash with the Teessiders at the Riverside tomorrow night:
“The worst thing to do would be to underestimate them – they’ve got an old-school manager in Pulis who knows how to grind out results. We’ve seen with Neil Warnock and Steve Bruce this season that they can get a result against Wolves, so we need to respect them – but not too much.”
Wolves need just 12 more points to guarantee promotion back to the top flight, and three points against Boro tomorrow night, along with another win against Hull City four days later, would be the ideal preparation for their clash with Cardiff City on April 6th.
