Steve Bull says Benik Afobe would have doubted his ability to fit into Wolves’ system

Wolves legend Steve Bull spoke exclusively to the Express & Star during a Q&A session, and praised on-loan ace Benik Afobe for the manner in which he has adjusted to Nuno Espirito Santo’s 3-4-3 system.

The 25-year-old moved to Molineux on loan from Bournemouth in January, and has gone on to score four goals in 10 outings thus far, with all of those coming in the last five games.

Nuno’s side currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, five points clear of second placed Cardiff City, and they can stretch that lead to eight with a win over Hull City tonight.

Afobe’s arrival has certainly provided Wolves with extra impetus in their quest for promotion, and he will be desperate to bag a few more goals, as he looks to earn a permanent deal at Molineux.

Bull, who scored a club record 306 goals for Wolves, highlighted how Nuno’s preferred system would have been foreign to the striker when he joined the club on loan in January, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star:

“I wouldn’t have thought Afobe would have thought that when he joined, because he’s used to 4-4-2, but he’s adjusted well and he’s doing well for us.”

Wolves are almost certain to gain promotion to the Premier League this season, and with just seven games remaining, Afobe hasn’t got long left to convince Nuno that he is deserving of a permanent deal at Wolves.
