Wolves legend Steve Bull sat down for a light-hearted Q&A session with the Express & Star, and insisted that Champions League football within the next five years it not outside the realms of reality for his former club.
The Black Country outfit have been superb this season, and currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, although their recent run will give their fans cause for concern.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have taken just two points from their last three Championship games, but they are still hot favourites to win the division.
With the money spent by the Chinese owners at Molineux, and Nuno at the helm, these must be exciting times to be a Wolves fan, in spite of recent results.
Bull, who scored a record 306 goals for Wolves, responded to a question asking him whether his former club can achieve Champions League football within five years, during a Q&A session with the Express & Star:
“That’s reachable. I think with the owners, they are not going to be a one-hit wonder. They have come here, and want to be at the top of the league. Within five years, with the team they have got now, and if they keep strengthening, I can see it (Champions League football).”
Wolves still need to walk before they can run, though, and the players must ensure that they focus their minds on achieving promotion back to the top flight this season, after their recent poor run.
One thing is for sure though, if they do go on to gain promotion back to the Premier League, the sky will be the limit for Nuno’s men, what with the added financial power that top flight football will bring.
