Wolves legend Steve Bull spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and raved about Ruben Vinagre after the 19-year-old defender’s display against Watford on Saturday, suggesting that he has now given Nuno Espirito Santo something to think about.

The Black Country outfit have begun their Premier League season in fine fashion, although last weekend’s defeat to the Hornets brought them back down to earth with a bang.

Vinagre, who joined Wolves from Monaco on a permanent deal in the summer, came on at half-time against Javi Gracia’s side, and impressed.

Bull, who scored a club record 306 goals for Wolves, told the Express & Star how the teenager has now given Nuno a lot to think about:

“Another player who did well after coming off the bench against Watford was Ruben Vinagre. He caused a few problems with his willingness to drive forward from left wing-back. There were no signs of him, at 19, being fazed by top-flight life and he has given Nuno something to think about. Fair play to him.”

Next up for Wolves is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, and Vinagre will be hoping that he has done enough to earn himself a place in the starting XI against Chris Hughton’s men.
