Wolves legend Steve Bull spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and outlined his concern at the prospect of Benik Afobe leaving the club for Stoke City.

The 25-year-old joined Wolves on a permanent £12 million deal last Friday but, incredibly, it looks like he is already on his way out of the club, according to BBC Sport, who claim that Stoke are in talks to sign the striker.

If the deal goes through, the Black Country outfit would make a quick £2 million profit on the forward, but the jury is out on whether the move would be a wise one from Wolves.

Bull, who scored a club record 306 goals for Wolves, spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and highlighted his concern at losing someone with Afobe’s goalscoring ability:

“We will have to wait and see if he is a Wolves player 100 per cent but I think they will miss his goals in the Premier League. I think they need a wild card who can come off the bench and score goals and Afobe offers that.”

This summer will be a vitally important one for Nuno Espirito Santo and Wolves, and if Afobe is allowed to leave to join Stoke, it will be vitally important for them to bring another established striker into the club.

The Black Country outfit do have plenty of funds to spend, however, and it would be no surprise to see them spend big on another forward this summer, regardless of whether Afobe stays or goes.
