Aston Villa were missing some of their key players in the Carabao Cup last night.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing defeat to Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup last night, and provided an update on injured trio Jonathan Kodjia, John McGinn and Jack Grealish, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans were woeful last night, with Bruce fielding a weaker side against the League One outfit, and he will be desperate to have some of his key men back available for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United.
Bruce will be hoping to guide his side to a victory against the Blades, with a two-week international break on the horizon.
The Villa boss spoke to reporters after last night’s defeat, and explained how he is hopeful of having arguably his three most important players back and available for Saturday’s Championship clash, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“We hope they’re going to be ok. Kodjia is another one. Hopefully they’ll be ok to play but we’ll have to wait and see.”
A win against Chris Wilder’s men could take Aston Villa up to third in the table, and that would represent a decent start to the season for Bruce’s side.
