Aston Villa have enjoyed a respectable start to their Championship campaign.

Villans boss Steve Bruce sat down for his post-match press conference in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Friday night, and offered high words of praise for the Villa fans, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The west Midlands outfit currently sit comfortably inside the play-off spots in fifth position, although they are a distant seven points adrift of the automatic promotion positions, with 26 Championship games still to be played.
Bruce took over as manager at Villa Park in October 2016, but it has only been over this past month where his side have really looked like being genuine contenders for promotion to the Premier League.

And the Villa boss told reporters how much credit the club’s fans deserve for his side’s recent climb up the table, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:

“The noise was incredible. I’ve said it so many times about them, they’re fantastic. We could have filled the whole stand if we wanted to. They’ve done the club proud once again tonight.”
Next up for the Villans is a home game against Millwall on Saturday, before a crucial pair of matches against their direct promotion rivals Derby County and Sheffield United.
And if they take nine points from those three outings they will be in a great position to make a push for the automatic promotions spots heading into the Christmas period and on into the new year.
