Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has been quoted as saying by the club’s official Twitter page that Gabriel Agbonlahor has a big summer coming up.

Agbonlahor has struggled for Villa for a while now. The 30-year-old has been able to feature in 12 Championship matches for the Villans so far this season, while during the 2015-16 campaign, he was able to play in just 15 Premier League games.

The Englishman’s recent performances, though, have been encouraging. The striker scored the winner in Villa’s 1-0 victory over Birmingham City at Villa Park in the Championship last weekend.

Agbonlahor will surely welcome Bruce’s comments, as they suggest that he does have a future at Villa.

The striker’s current contract with the Villans runs until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, and it seems that he will get to play for the Villa Park for one more season at least.

The 30-year-old has spent his entire professional club football career at Villa, and he does deserve one more chance.
