Aston Villa are targeting two quality additions during the summer transfer window, according to Steve Bruce.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has confirmed to the club’s official Youtube channel that he will only make two quality additions in the summer transfer window.

Villa were extremely active in January, but Bruce only wants a couple of quality signings ahead of next season.

And in this article, we take a look at the two players he may have in mind to bring to Villa Park.

George Boyd

Burnley's George Boyd celebrates scoring their third goal

A tireless worker, Boyd has been a key part of Burnley’s squad as they have put together an impressive campaign in the Premier League this season.

Boyd and Bruce worked together at Hull City earlier in their respective careers, and the 55-year-old manager was a huge fan.

Bruce always spoke highly of Boyd, and his professionalism was always highly commended.

Boyd’s contract at Burnley expires at the end of the season, and Bruce could be keen on a reunion with the Scottish international.

Aiden McGeady

Preston's Aiden McGeady

McGeady has been in incredible form at Preston North End this season, during a loan spell at Everton.

The Republic of Ireland international looks to be back to his very best – and he has proven to be one of the standout players in the Championship.

If McGeady was signed by Villa he would increase their options of attack, and his arrival would be a signal of intent ahead of next campaign.
