Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce wanted Aaron Lennon when he was at Hull in 2015, so perhaps he should target a loan deal for the Everton winger this summer.
The Daily Mail reported back in January 2015 that Steve Bruce wanted to sign Aaron Lennon for Hull City but it appears that the asking price of £7 million scuppered a deal on that occasion.
But with the Daily Mail more recently suggesting that Harry Redknapp hopes to bring the Everton winger to Birmingham City on loan, perhaps Bruce should reignite his interest in the 30-year-old and go up against Aston Villa’s Championship rivals for his signature.

Everton’s transfer business this summer certainly suggests that the former Tottenham man may struggle for chances in Ronald Koeman’s side, so if a loan deal does become a possibility, Bruce should enter the race and try and bring him to Villa Park.
Lennon is back training after a difficult few months in his personal life, and may well be fully determined to not only enjoy his football again but to also prove a point that he still has plenty to offer out on the pitch.
He undoubtedly has the quality to make a major impact for the Villans if they are able to land him, and they have shown during this window that they have plenty of pulling power – beating several sides to a loan deal for Sam Johnstone (via Daily Mail), while fellow summer signing John Terry rejected the chance to move to Birmingham before signing for Villa, the Guardian reported.
With so much depth up front and in the centre of midfield, having a winger of top flight quality such as Lennon dancing down the wing and creating more opportunities for them may make a loan deal for the man Bruce wanted two years ago a major coup for the Villans as they look to end their Premier League exile.
