Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack has been linked with Sunderland.
And even though Bruce has been impressed by McCormack’s efforts in training, he has confirmed that the Scottish international is available for transfer.

“There’s been an enquiry. I don’t know,” Bruce said. “There’s been enquiries from a couple of clubs, that might happen in the next week or so, we’ll wait and see.
“I didn’t take him to Germany. I left the door open for him. He is training well but at the moment I can’t guarantee him a game.
“That goes for Gary Gardner and one or two other ones where basically we have too many.
“To be fair to them lads too I didn’t think it was right to take them to Germany if I was not going to use them.”
McCormack and Gardner endured difficult campaigns at Villa last term, as they both slipped out of Bruce’s first-team plans.
McCormack was expected to have a big role to play for Villa, but never showed that he was ready to become a prolific scorer.
The claret and blues ended up bringing in Scott Hogan in January, which seemed to end McCormack’s chances of forcing his way back into Bruce’s plans.
Gardner, meanwhile, has also slipped further away from Villa’s first-team this summer.
The claret and blues have signed Glenn Whelan this summer, which means that Gardner’s chances of playing much next term look limited.
