Sheffield Wednesday won against Ipswich Town at the weekend.
Wednesday got the better of Ipswich 1-0 away from home at Portman Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Lucas Joao, who came as a substitute in the 72nd minute, scored the only goal of the match in the 90th minute.
Wednesday manager Bruce has thanked the fans for their support during the match.
Bruce told Wednesday’s official website about the fans: “They were magnificent and a big thank you to those supporters here on a horrible day.
“The fans have been fantastic with me since I came in, we have a remarkable fan base here.”
Promotion push possible?
Wednesday have a good team, and there are some very good players, and perhaps a challenge for the Championship playoffs is still possible.
The Owls are 16th in the Championship table at the moment with 38 points from 29 matches, nine points behind sixth-placed Bristol City.
The match against Ipswich was Bruce’s first in charge of the Owls, and perhaps under the former Aston Villa and Hull City boss, Wednesday can launch a challenge for the playoffs.
Wednesday will return to action this coming weekend when they take on Reading at home in the Championship.
