Aston Villa need another forward and their manager appears to be a fan of the Liverpool youngster.

Liverpool's English striker Dominic Solanke (R) cannot convert this chance during the English League Cup third round football match between Leicester City and Liverpool at King Power...

In quotes published by the Liverpool Echo, Reds summer signing Dominic Solanke admitted that he was willing to bide his time and fight for every second he gets on the field, but is there a better way to impress Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp?

After all, in a recent interview with the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce cited the 20-year-old as an example of young British talent not getting sufficient chances at first-team level.

And if anyone needs a striker right now, it is Villa.

With Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan side-lined through injury, and Gabby Agbonlahor still recovering from a setback of his own, Villa are relying on youngster Keinan Davis to maintain their promotion push.

For now the talented teenager is doing a fine job but he cannot do everything on his own, especially over the bust Christmas and New Year period, and bringing in a player like Solanke on loan could suit all parties perfectly.

The 20-year-old has barely got a sniff at Liverpool thus far, yet at Villa he could start regularly and hopefully fill his boots in the process.

Bruce is not afraid to give youth a chance and Solanke is far more likely to impress Liverpool by scoring regularly at Championship level rather than running that extra mile in training.

He may get a few chances at Anfield between now and May, but Bruce would be wise to at least try to convince Solanke that his short-term future would be best served at Villa Park. In fact, it could be the making of him.
