Aston Villa beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 at Villa Park last night.
Steve Bruce has told Aston Villa’s official website that he wished his players would make their matches far less stressful to watch.
Villa took on Queens Park Rangers last night, and extended their run of good form to seven wins in eight matches.
The claret and blues picked up a 1-0 victory over QPR, but the three points were far from easy to collect.
Villa had taken the lead early on when Jonathan Kodjia found the back of the net, but they struggled to break QPR down again.
And Bruce said: “They don’t make it easy. I said that to them. I think they’re trying to finish me off.
“We have to improve with the ball. But in terms of the resilience, they have found that ingredient. That’s what you need in the Championship.”
Villa’s resurgent run of form is highly encouraging for next season, but it has come too late for them to trouble the play offs this time around.
Even if Villa won every game between now and the end of the campaign they would likely come up short in the battle for a top six place.
Bruce’s men are currently nine points away from the play off places, with just six games remaining in the Championship season.
Villa are next in action when they take on Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.
