Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia celebrates scoring their first goal with team mates
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has been singing the praises of his striker Jonathan Kodjia – who has been in great form since he took the manager role at the club.
Aston Villa won their second game in a row this weekend, defeating Fulham 1-0 in the Championship.
It was a late goal from Villa yet again, after Jordan Ayew scored late against Reading in the Championship in midweek.
Kodjia’s acrobatic goal was his third in as many games for Villa since Bruce’s arrival at Villa Park.
His performances have certainly helped Villa pick up from their early struggled under former boss Roberto Di Matteo.

Bruce is clearly pleased with the impact that the summer signing from Bristol City has had in recent games for the club. Speaking to the Aston Villa website Bruce had this to say about his current star striker – and is clearly pleased that the Villa chairman Tony Xia has the funds available to pay out for such talent:
“I think all of us are very, very happy that the owner has the deep pockets to go and buy someone like him in the Championship.
“He had a wonderful year last year and, hopefully, if he can reignite us and get 20-odd goals then we’ve got a chance of being successful and where we want to get to.
“He’s had a great week and long may it continue.”
Villa fans are clearly enjoying the form of their striker, who has become a massive thorn in the side of Championship defences.
If he can keep up his form, then Villa will soon start rising up the Championship table.
