Chelsea-owned striker Tammy Abraham was in action for Aston Villa against Blackburn Rovers in the Championship this past weekend.
Abraham featured for Villa in their Championship match against Blackburn away from home at Ewood Park this past Saturday evening.
It was the 20-year-old striker’s debut for the Villans following his move to Bruce’s side on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The England international striker – who earns £50,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it finished in a 1-1 draw.
Villa manager Bruce has revealed that Abraham was shattered after the match, but he was pleased with the performance of the youngster.
Bruce told Villa’s official website: “Abraham, on another day, could have scored three, couldn’t he? He’s going to be a very good player for us – an important one.
“He’s shattered in that dressing room because he probably hasn’t played 90 minutes in months. Considering all that, he’s done very well.”
No start against Rotherham United?
Villa will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Rotherham United at Villa Park in the Championship.
Given that Abraham was tired after the match against Blackburn at the weekend, maybe manager Bruce will not include the youngster in the starting lineup on Tuesday evening or play him for the first 60 or so minutes.
