Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has told the club’s official Twitter page that Paul Dummett is “not quite right” at the moment.

The 29-year-old defender has recently suffered a hamstring problem, having picked up a muscle injury in pre-season, according to The Chronicle.

The report has added that Welshman suffered a tendon injury in January 2020 and could potentially be out for the rest of the year after his latest setback.

Newcastle boss Bruce has given his take on the situation of Dummett, and has suggested that it is unlikely that he will be back in action anytime soon.

Disappointing

Dummett has been on the books of Newcastle his entire professional club football career so far and is an important player in the team.

It is disappointing for both the Magpies and the player that he is not fit at the moment and could potentially be on the sidelines for the next few weeks.

Newcastle are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 11 points from eight matches.

Bruce’s side will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Chelsea at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.
