Aston Villa won against Sunderland at Villa Park in the Championship on Tuesday.

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has told the club’s official website that Albert Adomah played against Sunderland despite carrying an injury.

Adomah featured for Villa in the Championship game against Sunderland at Villa Park on Tuesday evening.

The 29-year-old winger played well against the Black Cats, as he scored in the 10th minute to help his side to a 2-1 win.

Villa manager Bruce has revealed that the Ghana international winger had a calf problem before the match, but the former Bristol City and Middlesbrough man was determined to play.

“I’m delighted with Albert, he’s in great form,” Bruce told Villa’s official website. “He was a doubt before the game, we thought he had a bit of a calf problem but he wanted to play. And he scored another goal, which is great.”

Bruce’s revelation about Adomah underlines just how determined the winger is and how committed he is to the Villa cause.

The 29-year-old winger joined the Villans from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by GazetteLive to be worth £5 million.

The Villans have recovered from their slow start to the season and are now one of the main contenders for the Championship playoffs.
