Aston Villa are currently 11 points clear of the drop zone.
Steve Bruce has insisted in the Birmingham Mail that Aston Villa are not in a relegation battle.
Villa’s form improved in the first few weeks of Bruce’s time in charge, but the Midlands side have struggled of late.
Bruce’s men slipped to defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in their latest match.

Villa are now winless in their last four matches in all competitions, and they have slipped down to 13th in the Championship table.
However, Bruce insists that the claret and blues are not looking over their shoulders – as they still have one eye on taking a play off spot.
“No. Well you can never say never in the Championship,” Bruce said, when asked whether Villa are in a relegation battle.

“When I arrived we were in a relegation fight because we were in the bottom three.
“I’m not concerned about that. We’ve got to be a club of our stature and look at what we’re trying to achieve at the other end of the table.
“I never give up on that [promotion]. It’s a huge, big ask because we’ve drifted away in the last few weeks.”
Villa are currently 11 points clear of the bottom three, but 10 points behind the top six, so they will have to improve markedly to get into the promotion shake up.
The Midlands side have struggled for goals of late, and currently are without Jonathan Kodjia and Jordan Ayew, who are at the African Cup of Nations.
Villa are next in action against Preston North End at the weekend.
