Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah is reportedly on Newcastle United’s radar.
The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 60, Sunday, July 8, 2018) has reported of Newcastle’s interest in Adomah as an alternative to Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend (click here to read more), but The Birmingham Mail has claimed that the Premier League club have yet to make contact with the Championship side over the transfer of the 30-year-old.
It has been reported by The Birmingham Mail that Villa have not had any approach from the Magpies regarding the winger, and that manager Steve Bruce wants the Ghana international to stay at Villa Park for the 2018-19 campaign.
The former Middlesbrough winger reportedly wanted to extend his contract at Villa towards the end of last season, but there is no new deal on the table now.
Not serious about Albert Adomah?
With Newcastle having not yet made any approach for Adomah, according to The Birmingham Mail, it does seem that the Magpies are not very serious about the winger.
Townsend – who earns £55,000 per week as salary, accoridng to Spotrac.com – is the better option anyway, as the former Tottenham winger knows the Premier League and has been a success at Palace.
