Steve Bruce is casting a close eye on Lucas de Bolle in training at Darsley Park as Newcastle United look to manage a raft of injuries ahead of their trip to Wolves, per Chronicle Live.
The Magpies visit Molineux on Saturday seeking a first win of the Premier League season at the seventh attempt. Newcastle dropped two-points late on at Watford last weekend when Ismaila Sarr snuck in unchallenged to head past Karl Darlow.
Wolves, meanwhile, beat Southampton 1-0 on their travels for a second win of the season in their last three games. Putting distance between them and the drop zone, which the Toon sit above only on goal difference.

Bruce faces a daunting trip to Wolves on Saturday with Newcastle carrying a raft of injuries. Callum Wilson took part in training on Thursday as he looks to make a return from a thigh problem. But Jamaal Lascelles, Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett are among those still out.
Joe White and Elliot Anderson have stepped up from the Under-23s to plug gaps in training lately. So has summer arrival Remi Savage after a strong start to the term. Now, Bruce has also included De Bolle in his sessions at Darsley Park to run the rule over the 18-year-old.
What will De Bolle offer Newcastle and Bruce?
De Bolle is naturally a central midfielder, but can provide depth on both wings if Bruce feels Newcastle are lacking. His minutes with the Magpies’ U23s and U18s have come across the field, although he is yet to fully establish his presence in their second string.
The Wallsend Boys Club’s product shone with the Toon’s U18s in last term’s FA Youth Cup. Providing a composed presence on the ball and an end product, with incisive passes and clever footwork.
Newcastle rewarded De Bolle with his first professional contract this July after catching the eye in their U18s. Now, he has the chance to grab Bruce’s direct attention in training.
