Newcastle United picked up a much-needed win when they put three past West Ham United on Saturday.
Steve Bruce is hoping the Newcastle fans will now ‘get behind’ him as much as they did with Rafa Benitez after the away fans gave him a warm reception following their 3-2 win over West Ham on Saturday.
Newcastle produced one of their best attacking performances at the London Stadium as they counter-attacked West Ham with ease.
In the end, the Magpies put three past the Hammers but considering some of the clear-cut chances they had in the game, if they had scored 5 or 6 during the game then the home team wouldn’t have had anything to complain about.
After Newcastle had put a much-needed three points on the board, Bruce reacted to the away fans giving him a warm reception.
“I’m going to try and enjoy it and hopefully in time, with results,” Bruce told BBC Sport. “They will get behind me as much as they did Rafa. That would be nice.”
Newcastle will now turn their attention to taking on Bournemouth, who beat Manchester United 1-0 on Saturday.
This will be the last game before the final international break of the year. When everyone returns then the serious stuff will kick in because the games over the festive period will come thick and fast.
At this moment in time, Newcastle are sitting 15th in the Premier League table – four points ahead of Southampton, who occupy the final relegation spot.
