Aston Villa came from behind to register a 2-1 victory against Queens Park Rangers in the Championship clash on Saturday.
Albert Adomah scored on either side of the break to earn Aston Villa all three points. With that victory, the Villans have moved to fifth, and have consolidated their Championship play-off position.
The home side took the lead through Jamie Mackie, who scored in the 18th minute after Sam Johnstone failed to deal with a corner.
Keinan Davis and Josh Onomah came close to scoring before Adomah netted from the spot just before the break.
The Ghana winger scored in the second half to give Villa a 2-1 lead. Villa have now won four games away from home in the league this season.
Villa were without strikers Jonathan Kodjia, Scott Hogan and Gabby Agbonlahor because of injury, so Bruce had no choice but to play young English duo Davis and Onomah. However, they stepped up to the occasion brilliantly.
Bruce was particularly pleased with Davis, and has labelled the youngster’s performance as “absolutely immense”.
“We did very well without big names,” said Steve Bruce, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail. “When a big name drops out, it gives the others an opportunity.
“And if there’s proof of that, look at Keinan. “He was absolutely immense today. It just shows you where you can come from in a short space of time.”
