Aston Villa have finally shown what they are truly capable of in recent months.
Aston Villa’s manager Steve Bruce
Villa boss Steve Bruce spoke to the media after last night’s 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers, and highlighted the importance of Jonathan Kodjia to his side, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The Villans have been on a remarkable run of form of late, winning seven of their last eight Championship outings, and now find themselves in 11th position in the table, just nine points adrift of the play-off spots.
And the 27-year-old Ivorian has been instrumental for Villa during that eight-game period, scoring seven goals.
The striker moved to Villa Park from Bristol City in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £11 million, and has gone on to establish himself as one of the Championship’s most feared front-men, scoring 18 goals in 32 league outings.

And Bruce praised Kodjia, when speaking to reporters, highlighting how much emphasis there is on the Ivory Coast international to produce the goods on a regular basis, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“There is a huge emphasis on Jon and the quality of his goal won us the match.”
Next up on the agenda for the Villans is a trip to Burton Albion on Saturday, before they play host to Reading the following weekend, and a return of six points from those fixtures could see them move very much into contention for a place inside the top six.
