Aston Villa’s Libor Kozak’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Steve Bruce has hinted in the Express and Star that Libor Kozak may have played his last game for Aston Villa.
Kozak was brought to Villa back in 2013, but he has endured a torrid time at the Midlands club.
The target-man forward broke his leg just six months after joining Villa, and he has failed to ever really recover from that set-back.
Kozak’s contract with the claret and blues is due to expire in the summer, and Bruce admits that the 27-year-old has had a really tough time since making the switch to Villa Park.
“He has had an ankle operation and he’s out for the rest of the season,” Bruce said.
“To be honest with you he’s had a really bad time.
“It’s a shame because he’s been hit by so many injuries. He’s a good player but he’s out of contract in the summer.”
Kozak has never played for Villa since Bruce took charge, with his last appearance for the first-team coming way back in August.
The former Lazio man had very little chance of breaking into the claret and blues’ starting line-up, after Villa’s January transfer spend.
Villa brought in Scott Hogan last month, to strengthen their front line even further.
Villa are yet to win in 2017, with their next match coming against Newcastle United on Monday.
