Steve Bruce has confirmed Aston Villa’s interest in Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury.
Steve Bruce has confirmed in the Birmingham Mail that Aston Villa have an interest in five transfer deals at this moment in time.
Villa are believed to have £25 million to spend in January (Daily Mirror), as they look to strengthen their push for promotion.
Villa are currently in 12th place in the Championship table – seven points away from the top six.
The claret and blues are thought to be willing to do business in January, with Bruce keen to add quality to his squad.
One player who has been lined up for a transfer to Villa Park is Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury.
And Bruce confirmed his interest in Lansbury, after his side’s match against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup yesterday. He said: “We’ve declared an interest [in Henri Lansbury]. We’ve got an interest in four or five things at the moment and that’s all it is.
“We’re actively looking to strengthen, we know that.
“As we’ve said many times before yes I’ll try and improve us but only if I can.”
Villa have already signed goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on loan from Manchester United, and more new faces are set to arrive in the coming weeks.
Villa are said to have made a £3 million bid for Lansbury, with the deal potentially set to go through in the near future (Daily Mail).
Villa are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
