Aston Villa have until the end of the month to add some loan signings to their squad.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about his ongoing search for new signings, and insisted that he will not be bringing in players just for the sake of adding numbers to his squad, highlighting how any signing that he does make will have to be of the very highest quality.
The Villans have actually begun their 2018/19 campaign in fine fashion, taking seven points from their opening three Championship games, and progressing through to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
Things have improved beyond all recognition at Villa Park since the new owners took over, and there is a genuine sense of optimism reverberating around the club.
Bruce is far from happy with what he currently has available to him, though.
The Villa boss spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and insisted that he wants to bring in one or two top quality loan signings before the window slams shut on August 31st:

“It’s always difficult when we are trying to do what we are doing, in terms of loan signings. We have have one or two things on the go. We are quietly confident we’ll get one or two over the line. The one thing I won’t do is bring players in for the sake of it. We are light in the wide positions and up front because of the injuries to Scott Hogan and Keinan Davis. We’re short and haven’t got and alternative at the moment. They have to be of the right quality and they have to be able to get into our team rather than just adding numbers. I’d rather wait for the quality. If we don’t get them then so be it.”
Bruce’s comments should get Villa fans excited, and if he does manage to bring in a couple of top level signings, the west Midlands outfit will surely be in a great position from which to make a sustained push for promotion back to the Premier League this term.
