The Newcastle United and Chelsea players are impressing at loan club Sheffield Wednesday.

Steve Bruce has praised Sheffield Wednesday loan stars Rolando Aarons and Michael Hector after Tuesday’s win at Bolton Wanderers.
Aarons, who is owned by Newcastle United, scored the second of Wednesday’s two goals at the University of Bolton Stadium, while Hector, borrowed from Chelsea, ensured a seventh clean sheet in 10 games following Bruce’s appointment as manager.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, the Owls boss said: “Rolando, who’s had a real big impact on us, has capped off a memorable night for him because I thought he was terrific in the second half in particular.
“His career seemed to have fallen off the cliff a little bit, so you blow him a little bit of confidence, put an arm around his shoulder and remind him what a good player he was – which I remember when he first burst onto the scene.
“I’m delighted because he’s given us something we haven’t got – he’s got a little trick, he’s quick, and he’s energetic and young and I’m delighted for him because he’s a really, really good kid.

“All this nonsense written about him, I’ve not seen it. He’s done great since he walked through the door.”
Agreeing with Andy Giddings’ assessment that Hector was superb at the other end, Bruce said: “Especially second half.
“I thought the way he came out of the back and passed the ball forward, he was terrific. Just what we want – it’s a pity he’s not ours.”
Asked whether the 26-year-old could become a permanent Sheffield Wednesday player, he replied: “Well I think we would take him in a heartbeat, wouldn’t we? But let’s see what the summer brings.”

Whether or not Wednesday would be able to fund a deal for either player remains to be seen, after their chairman warned of a second transfer embargo in as many summers earlier in the campaign.
Unlike Aarons, who has two years left on his Newcastle contract, Hector’s Chelsea deal is due to expire next summer.

Aarons has played 27 times for Newcastle, who signed him from Bristol City as a youngster, whereas Hector has yet to appear in a competitive fixture for Chelsea following his £5 million move from Reading four years ago.
