Aston Villa’s Andre Green has played nine times since Steve Bruce took charge.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has told BBC Radio West Midlands Sport that Andre Green deserves a lot of credit for the way he has taken his opportunity in the first-team.
Bruce has shown a lot of faith in Green since taking charge, and has frequently played the youngster.
The 18-year-old attacker has played nine times for Villa with Bruce at the helm and he started against Bristol City yesterday evening.
Green was a constant threat against the Robins, as Villa picked up a 2-0 victory over Lee Johnson’s struggling side.
And Bruce had nothing but praise for Green, who has been one of the claret and blues most impressive performers in recent weeks.
“He’s hit the bar, he’s hit the post, and he’s had two wonderful chances,” Bruce said.
“What’s refreshing about him is he has got that natural pace and he’s got a real good chance. Fair play to him, he’s grasped the situation and looks a very good young player at the moment.”
Green has arguably been the biggest positive for Villa since Bruce took charge.
The youngster looks to have a very bright future at Villa Park, if he continues to develop at his current rate.
Villa’s next match comes against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium on Saturday.
