Aston Villa’s Gabby Agbonlahor is being put through his paces in a bid to get him back fit and firing.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has shared the fitness regime that Gabby Agbonlahor is being put through, in a bid to help him return to peak condition, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
The 30-year-old made his shock return to the first team setup at the end of October during Villa’s 1-1 draw at Birmingham City, and he has gone on to rack up five league appearances in total.

And Bruce, who was appointed as manager of Aston Villa in October, discussed how the club are trying to help Agbonlahor return to his best, sharing how the striker has responded to a strict swimming regime, as quoted by Birmingham Mail:
“He’s not very fond of it, but he’s trying. It’s not a very pleasant sight when he’s in the swimming pool I have to tell you, but he’s trying like a beast! I had to come out because it was that embarrassing.”

Agbonlahor is still yet to score for Villa since his return to the fold, but if the club can somehow extract the sort of form that made him one of the Premier League’s most dangerous strikers just a few years back, then who knows how much of a positive influence he will have on their challenge for promotion.
The Villans currently sit in 15th position in the Championship table, but are only six points adrift of the play-off promotion spots, with 27 league games still remaining.
