Aston Villa currently sit comfortably inside the promotion play-off spots.
Villa boss Steve Bruce addressed the media during his post-match press conference, in the aftermath of his side’s super 5-0 win over Bristol City, and pleaded with the club’s fans to get right behind his side during the second half of the campaign, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans currently sit in fifth position in the Championship table, having racked up consecutive league wins, and there is genuine optimism that they can finish inside the automatic promotion spots, with just five points separating themselves and second placed Derby County.
Bruce has endured heavy criticism from Villa fans this season, with many of them questioning his ability to guide their side back to the Premier League.

The 57-year-old has spent heavily during his time in charge at Villa Park, with little to show for his investment, but there have at least been significant improvements this term, in comparison to last season’s efforts.
With a packed schedule ahead for the west Midlands outfit, they will need their fans to get right behind them.
Bruce addressed the media yesterday, and made a desperate plea to the Villa Park faithful, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:
“The important thing is we’re on track. We need the supporters to get right behind us now and give us that big push that we need.”
Next up for Villa is their FA Cup tie with Peterborough on Saturday, before they make the short trip to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest in the Championship the following week.
