Aston Villa have scored just 35 goals in 36 Championship matches so far this season.
Steve Bruce has told Aston Villa’s official website that his side must become more ruthless in front of goal.
Villa largely matched Huddersfield Town yesterday, but fell to a 1-0 defeat against the promotion chasers.
The claret and blues had some chances during the contest, but they failed to take their opportunities in the match.
And Bruce admits that Villa simply must become more clinical, if they are to start picking up victories more regularly.
“They all contributed to a really good team performance,” Bruce said.
“And, as I said, sometimes in football you don’t get the breaks.
“If I am brutally honest, we have to improve in front of goal.
“In training we stick them away all day. We will keep working on it because it will cost you and it cost us in a big game tonight.”
Villa have struggled for goals throughout the campaign, with Jonathan Kodjia their only player to reach double figures.
Villa’s next top scorer, after Kodjia, is Rudy Gestede – who left the club to join Middlesbrough during the January transfer window.
In total, Villa have hit just 35 goals in 36 league matches so far this season.
Bruce’s side are currently in 15th place in the Championship table, with their next match coming against Sheffield Wednesday.
