Mile Jedinak was taken off after just 26 minutes of Aston Villa’s Championship clash with Ipswich Town.

It has been a difficult season for Jedinak, with the Birmingham Mail reporting that a groin injury has been a major reason why he has spent so much time out of the Villans side.

He appeared to be edging back towards full fitness however, as he followed a brilliant international break by making substitute appearances in the games against Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland before returning to the starting lineup for the clash with the Tractor Boys.
However, he only just made it past the midway point in the first-half, coming off shortly before the half-hour mark in a game that Villa would go on to win 2-0. And Bruce has hinted that he is concerned about the injury.

“Mile has got a shoulder injury,” he told the Birmingham Mail.
“We don’t know how bad it is but for him to come off with a shoulder injury means there’s something wrong. That’s a disappointment to us and we hope it’s not too bad.”
It will undoubtedly be a major blow for Bruce is Jedinak is sidelined for any significant period of time given that the season is just about to enter the festive period and the games are about to come thick and fast.
The 33-year-old may not be a headline-grabbing player when he is playing, but he is a brilliant player to have in the squad given his versatility and experience, and if Villa lose him for a lengthy spell, then it would surely be a huge disappointment for the promotion chasers.
