Aston Villa head to the Pirelli Stadium to take on Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup tonight.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce addressed the media over the weekend, and delivered a word of warning for any fans who are planning to travel to the Pirelli Stadium tonight to watch the Carabao Cup second round tie against Burton Albion, insisting that there will be big changes to his first XI, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans have begun their campaign in decent fashion, taking nine points from their opening five Championship games, but their hectic schedule will surely mean that Bruce rotates his starting line-up against Burton Albion tonight.
The Aston Villa boss spoke to reporters about his side’s clash with the League One outfit in the Carabao Cup tonight, and warned the travelling fans that there will be big changes made to the line-up, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“There’ll be big changes. The schedule is ridiculous when everyone is just trying to find their feet and get going. To have our seventh game in three-and-a-half weeks is nonsense. So it is what it is, but there will be big changes.”
Whilst Villa fans would surely love to see their club progress through to the next round of the competition, they must understand that it features well down on Bruce’s list of priorities this season, and they will probably have to make do with seeing some of their up and coming young starlets in action tonight.
