Aston Villa will be looking to build on Saturday’s win with another victory tonight.

Villa boss Steve Bruce spoke to the media during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s game against Bristol City tonight, and highlighted how playing at home can be particularly difficult for his team because other clubs look at Villa Park as a ‘wonderful’ place to go and play, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans have only lost twice at home this season, and have the ninth best home record in the division, but it has been their failure to win games from strong positions at Villa Park that has cost them so dearly this term, with seven draws from 16 games halting their progression up the table.
And Bruce drew attention to how much other teams enjoy coming to play at Villa Park as something that has made things difficult for his side, when speaking to reporters, suggesting that tonight’s game against the Robins will be no different, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:
Aston Villa Manager Steve Bruce speaks to assistant manager Steve Clarke
“They will be dangerous. But I believe that every opponent is dangerous here. They come to Villa Park and think ‘this is very, very nice – what a wonderful place to play. You can’t underestimate them. No game in this league is ever easy.”
A win for the Midlands outfit tonight could see them jump up to 15th in the Championship table, and then they really will be able to start looking forwards, rather than behind them.
With so much expected of Villa this season, it is easy to see why their fanbase are so frustrated with their club’s current plight, but if they can put together a sustained run of victories, and get their fans back on side, who knows how high up the table they can finish come May.
