The former Aston Villa manager has leapfrogged several big names in the running to replace Slavisa Jokanovic at Fulham.
The former Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has replaced David Moyes as favourite to succeed Slavisa Jokanovic at Fulham – that is with bookmaker Paddy Power.
Sacked by Villa at the start of October, Bruce has leapfrogged Moyes in the betting – as well as, among others, Sam Allardyce, Claudio Ranieri and Chris Coleman – after seeing his odds shortened to 5/2.
The experienced boss led Aston Villa to fourth in the Championship last season, before losing to Fulham, of all teams, in the play-off final at Wembley.
His CV does, however, boast four promotions, which could come in handy should Fulham succumb to relegation this season, although he also helped to keep a string of clubs in the Premier League.
Jokanovic has lost his last five league games as Cottagers boss and, according to reports, could be relived of his duties if his side lose at Liverpool this weekend.
Meanwhile, Paddy Power have suspended betting on Bruce, who has also been linked with the Reading position since leaving Aston Villa, becoming the next Southampton manager.
