Steve Bruce has hinted that Newcastle United are looking to use the loan market in January, on Amazon Prime.
Newcastle went out and signed three players on loan midway through last season, and Bruce is looking to repeat the trick this time around.
The Magpies boss believes that Newcastle may struggle to find the right players in the new year.
But Newcastle are working on some transfers right now, and Bruce says that are in position to strike, if their targets become available.
“We have got one or two things [going on],” he said. “We all know how difficult January is.
“Last year we brought in three loan signings which really, really helped us. So that’s an avenue which we’ll try and go down, but it’s difficult to get a loan player who can go in straight away and improve you.
“We have one or two things that we might progress, and if it improves us we might be in position to act.”
It is not yet clear which positions Newcastle want to strengthen, but if they do add an injection of quality, then the pressure is on Bruce to produce more entertaining football is only likely to increase.

Many Newcastle supporters have been frustrated with their style of play this season, with some accusing Bruce of failing to get the best out of his squad.
Newcastle followers could have few complaints about their latest display though.
The Magpies picked up an impressive 0-0 draw with Liverpool last night, and they carried a threat on the break all night, despite failing to score.
