Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce suggests that Jonathan Kodjia’s injury could make him delve in the January transfer market

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has suggested to The Daily Mail that Jonathan Kodjia will be out of action for months.

Kodjia was on the sidelines for five months after breaking his ankle in April and suffered another injury while on international duty with the Ivory Coast earlier this month.

The 28-year-old forward could now be out for months, according to Villa manager Bruce, who has also suggested that he could make a move for a forward in the January transfer window.

Ivory Coast's forward Jonathan Kodjia celebrates after scoring a goal during their international friendly football match against Russia in Krasnodar on March 24, 2017.

Scott Hogan, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, is also out injured at the moemnt.

“I don’t think it’s great,’ Bruce told The Daily Mail. “We think there’s a possibility of another operation, which is devastating news for us all, it’s going to be months likely, so it’s a big blow to us, especially with Hogan missing.

“But we’ll have to deal with it. Let’s see if we can find something in January which can help us.”
