Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has told the club’s official Twitter account that Joe Willock could feature this weekend.

The Magpies were in action against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night, and did take the lead through Jonjo Shelvey.

However, Palace hit back through Jairo Riedewald, and then bagged the winner through Gary Cahill.

That means that the pressure is back on Bruce despite a win over Everton at the weekend, and the attention quickly turns to this weekend’s game against Southampton.

Newcastle will have a new face in that game, as midfielder Joe Willock will be available to play following his late move from Arsenal.

The 21-year-old joined Newcastle on loan on deadline day, signing a deal with the Magpies until the end of the season.

Arsenal will be hoping to see the midfielder feature prominently during his time on Tyneside, and that could begin this weekend.

Bruce has hinted that Willock could make his debut against the Saints on Saturday, and began training with the Magpies today.
