Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has suggested that the club are on the verge of making some new additions.

Newcastle have lost key players this summer, with Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon both leaving.
Newcastle are now without their two top scorers from last campaign, and Mo Diame and Joselu have also left.
The Magpies now look very short of options, but Bruce has hinted that incoming additions are on the way.
He said: “We want to make a couple of acquisitions at least. With the loss of Perez and Rondon where we have to immediately take a look. Make no mistake we are active as we speak. Hopefully, we will get them over the line.”
Newcastle are thought to be closing in on a deal for Joelinton, as reported by the Chronicle.

The Magpies have also been linked with a host of other targets, but who is on their radar currently is slightly unclear.
Bruce is likely to want to strengthen Newcastle by bringing in at least two strikers and a midfielder, as they are the areas which look particularly weak right now.
Bruce will take charge of Newcastle for the first time at the weekend, when his new side take on West Ham United in a pre-season friendly.
