Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has played down a move for Hull City winger Robert Snodgrass.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has told the Birmingham Mail that he doesn’t think Hull City will sell Robert Snodgrass to Villa in January.
Snodgrass, 29, has starred in the Premier League this season, hitting five goals and two assists to give Hull hope of battling against relegation back to the Championship this season.

However, the Scotland international appears to be attracting interest ahead of the January transfer window, given his performances and the confusion surrounding his future at the KCOM Stadium.
Snodgrass, as reported by The Guardian, rejected a new contract to commit his future to the Tigers, and whilst Hull have activated a one-year option on Snodgrass’ contract to keep him at the club until the summer of 2018, his future remains in doubt.

The Guardian’s report claimed that Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Sunderland, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion were all keen to land the winger, whilst Aston Villa were also mentioned as being interested.
It was current Villa boss Steve Bruce who signed Snodgrass for Hull back in the summer of 2014, and he managed him for nearly two years before leaving the Tigers last summer.
With four goals and seven assists in 27 games last season, Snodgrass thrived under Bruce, and Villa fans will have been left excited by the possibility of the pair reuniting at Villa Park in January.
However, manager Bruce has now tackled the rumours, telling the Birmingham Mail that he would like to work with Snodgrass again, but doesn’t think Hull will sell to Villa in January.
“I know they won’t sell so I can’t see it,” said Bruce. “I signed Robert Snodgrass, I liked him, I paid £8m for him and if I got the opportunity I would like to have him. But I don’t think it’s a starter because Hull won’t sell to us,” he added.
