Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is now in serious danger of losing his job at Villa Park.
Villa had a bright start to the season, but as soon as their poor run started, Bruce came under pressure.
The atmosphere turned at Villa Park last night, when Villa could only manage a 3-3 draw with Preston North End.
Bruce had a cabbage thrown at him, and Villa’s fans repeatedly chanted against the manager.
But Bruce has felt disappointed with the way he has been treated by Villa fans for a long time now.
“The disappointment for me is after an awful summer – we got to a play off final, we’re all disappointed that we lost, but we got there – and after five games, every decision I’ve made has been questioned all of a sudden,” he said.
“That’s the disappointing thing for me. It happened when we had a good start to the season and it hasn’t relented. It’s not right for me to witness what I’ve witnessed in the stadium tonight.”
Villa actually had a 2-0 lead against Preston, but they threw it away and only just about rescued a point late on.
The claret and blues have now won just once in their last nine matches, with Bruce under serious pressure.
Villa are next in action at the weekend when they take on Millwall at the Den.
