Steve Bruce says Jonathan Kodjia is on the road to recovery.
Steve Bruce has delivered a positive injury update on two of his star players which should excite the Aston Villa fans.
The Villa manager says that star striker Jonathan Kodjia is “weeks away” from a return to first team action.
The 27-year-old suffered a broken ankle in the penultimate game of last season against Blackburn Rovers.

Initially, it was thought that he would be out of action for up to six months.
However, Bruce has revealed that the player is recovering well, and his return to Villa’s line up will be sooner rather than later.
Kodjia has been working tirelessly in the gym to stay in shape, ahead of the 2017/18 Championship campaign.
According to Sunday Mercury, the Ivory Coast international has returned to Bodymoor Heath Facility last week to step up his recovery.
“Kodjia had a pretty serious one so we will have to box clever. But he is on the road to recovery. I would think it is going to be weeks rather than months,” said Bruce, as quoted by Sunday Mercury (printed edition; press reader).
Bruce has also confirmed that Mile Jedinak is also Aedging closer to a return following an operation to cure groin problem.
Both Kodjia and Jedinak are key players for Villa, and their early return will serve a huge boost to the squad ahead of the next season.
