Aston Villa brought their miserable run to an end with a win over Middlesbrough yesterday.

Villa boss Steve Bruce addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 1-0 win away at Middlesbrough yesterday, and delivered an injury update on club captain John Terry, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Villans currently sit in seventh position in the Championship table, level on points with sixth placed Sheffield United, and they will feel a lot more confident in their chances of finishing inside the top two following yesterday’s victory.
The west Midlands outfit brought an end to their woeful run with a win at the Riverside yesterday, and they now sit just seven points adrift of the automatic play-off promotion places.

Bruce spoke to reporters after his side’s win on Teesside, and provided a fitness update on the club’s influential skipper John Terry, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:

“I can’t see too many making it back for Monday. If need be, I will look at the young ones. There will be a few back for the FA Cup tie next weekend, including John Terry. That will give everybody a lift.”
Next up for Villa is a huge clash with Bristol City at Villa Park tomorrow, and if they harbour genuine ambitions of finishing inside the top two, nothing less than a win will do.
That will be easier said than done, though, with Lee Johnson’s men more than capable of turning Villa over on their own patch.
